Non-copyright music

Music that has copyright means that the music is protected by a law that prevents other people using the song and passing it off as their own work. The law protects the writers, producers and singers of the music so that all rights to the piece belongs to them.

Copyright law means giving the creator of an original work exclusive rights to it, usually for a limited time. Generally, it is "the right to copy", but also gives the copyright holder the right to be credited for the work, to determine who may adapt the work to other forms, who may perform the work, who may financially benefit from it.

We are going to use non-copyright so that we do not break any laws that protects the artist and music from being copied, we will browse a number of websites that unsigned artists only can share their music in the hope of making it into the music industry, unsigned artists are not protected by copyright laws because the artist is not signed and their music is currently their's alone.

Brad Paisley - When I Get Where I'm Going

This is one of my favourite music videos because because it is a personal song and the video and the words are touching.

The use of fades and dissolves represent the passing of loved ones and mirrors the words of the song.

The use of home footage at the end makes it more personal and effective.
The video has in time singing and actual instrument playing.

The backdrop for the video is a natural environment and it gives a calming and comforting feel to the song which suits the song as it is about a passing that wants to comfort friends and family left behind.

There are many camera angles alternating between high and low angles showing the singer as either vulnerable or brave and admired.

There is a direct eye line shot the emotion of the song, the use of flashbacks and photos of passed ones is effective because it provokes emotion from the audience and makes them thing about passed ones but in a positive light.

The Brief

This is a brief introduction into what I will be doing and posting in reference to, we have to create a music video to a song from an unsigned artist, this is to avoid copyright laws.
Our music video will be up to 5 minutes.
We also need to produce a "digipak" for its release on a CD.
